We then took the Cross and Icon to the University of Western Sydney where the students had prepared another prayer service and an opportunity to venerate the Cross.

They then processed the Cross to the Campbelltown Arts Centre for the youth festival Rise Up. The festivities continued into the night and a vigil was held at St ohn the Evangelist's Church.

I would like to congratulate everyone involved in the liturgy at Eagle Vale Parish –it was wonderful to see so many people getting involved regardless of age or cultural background. The Staff and Parents of both St Mary’s Primary and St Greg’s should be very proud of their Children, they all were so well behaved and courteous. I hope and pray this experience brings not only those within their community closer, but helps to form and strengthen friendships now and in the future between those from their neighbouring communities.
RISE UP Macarthur was truly an outreach to the whole community! I am humbled by the people who made it all possible.
One of security guards assigned to do a job on the night commented "Wow...I did not know Catholics celebrate this way. I'm so happy to be here." He was not a mere spectator indifferent to the occasion, but a participant moved by the power of the Spirit! Many people came because they heard the band playing music and just went along to 'check it out' but were some of the last to leave!
Thank you to the Diocese and the JCI team travelling with the Cross - be sure that you guys refuel and 'receive' too!

As a participant in the ceremony at St Gregs Campbelltown i was strunk by the reverance and participation by all of the boys at this school. never in my life have i experianced something as moving as hearing the voices of a thousand plus boys singing. The students ans staff should be so imensly proud of there representation of faith. I urge all people to attend a mass of the schools to experiance the singing..it was truly mind blowing.
