Bega hosted the Cross & Icon this morning starting with a procession involving St Patrick’s Primary School and concluding with prayer, drama and veneration.
Next stop was Luman Christi College at Pambula Beach. Here students participated in a liturgy with a great selection of contemporary Christian music performed by the students. Following veneration, school students then lined the road all the way to the beach, where the Cross & Icon were processed. A replica Cross was then mounted on a dragon boat and paddled across up the Pambula river to Jigamy Farm Aboriginal Youth Centre.
A keen group of young people welcomed the Cross & Icon at Jigamy Farm to the sounds of the didgeridoo and gumleaf; and participated in a ceremony in the centre.
The journey then carried on to Eden for the final stop of the day. Here a large group processed the Cross & Icon through the main street and down to the Church for a liturgy and veneration.
