West Wyalong and Temora Journey with the Cross and Icon

This morning began with Mass around the Cross and Icon at St Mary’s in West Wyalong. This was followed by an awesome Parish BBQ breakfast and a procession through town.

We then travelled to the beautiful Lake Centenary in Temora and processed into the town. It was a wonderful chance to chat to the youth along the way as we walked past the town’s airport in the brilliant sunshine. Mass was celebrated in the park with Archbishop Mark Coleridge. The talented local youth prepared fantastic music for the Mass and afterwards shared with us some of their own music inspired by their experiences of Jesus.

I was so uplifted by the enthusiasm of the youth at Temora. After Mass three 15 year old girls shared with me how happy they were to encounter the Cross and Icon today. They spoke particularly of the amazing way in which the Cross had drawn them in and the grace they felt in its presence.
