Mudgee: Bringing home the Cross!

Manna Fest continued today, the youth gathering early for Stations of the Cross after limited sleep! The morning session included prayer through many forms including poetry, Scripture readings, testimonies, talks and music. Manna Fest concluded with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Patrick Dougherty and the Cross and Icon were then handed over to the young people of Mudgee.

It was wonderful to see the impact that Manna Fest had on the youth as they explored their faith in the presence of the WYD Cross and Icon. Many of the participants are now eagerly awaiting WYD and the opportunity to again celebrate their faith, this time with the rest of the world.

Later this evening the town of Mudgee were excited to welcome the Cross and Icon. We gathered in Robertson Park and then processed through the streets to Lawson Park. Here there was another amazing gathering of the community for the presentation of the Message Stick. This was followed by Mass and many people were emotional as they experienced the power of the Holy Spirit through the WYD Cross and Icon.
